From his very birth, Jesus was recognized as a King. There was just something about Him that inspired others to be loyal to him and to pay him respect. Wise men brought him gifts and shepherds fell to their knees worshipping him! Another King, Herrod, realized that this baby Jesus was a threat to his throne so he tried to have him killed.
During his 3-year ministry, Jesus laid claim to the lives of ordinary people and their loyalty to him was total and absolute. He wasn't about to allow divided loyalty. Either you were all "in" with Jesus or you weren't a part of his movement. In fact; it was amazing to witness as grown adults would leave their jobs and businesses to give Jesus their full obedience. In fact; many gave their lives to Jesus as his followers were persecuted.
Even many of Jesus' enemies couldn't believe what they saw and heard from him! John 7:46 tells us, "No man ever spoke like this Man!"Christmas is God's reminder that we are not alone. We are never alone! He sent his Son, Jesus to save all of us from our sins and each year at this time we are reminded of his birth. His ministry. His death. His resurrection!
The Christmas message has never changed one bit in over 2,000 years! Christmas still reminds us that God is with us. If you are lonely this Christmas, welcome Jesus Christ into your life and let him fill your heart with love, joy, hope and peace.
From my wife Ellen and our entire family, we wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!! Remember, God loves you....and I love you too!!
