It seems like lately there has been a lot of sickness, death and worry taking place in our lives.  This pandemic has hit close to home for many of us while others have had to face the loss of loved ones through natural process. Others are filled with anxiety and worry over finances, their marriage, the state of the world and dozens of other reasons. It's been hard to find things to be hopeful about when things in this world seem to be falling apart at the seams.

However; in the midst of all this doom and gloom that seems to be hovering all around us - have you noticed that there are still some people that are filled with hope and optimism? For these people, no matter what is going on around them or even to them - they have a smile on their face and they react with complete optimism!

These people are choosing to smile in the face of adversity and they refuse to let the circumstances of this world pull them down. This is the type of hope that we are told that we should have in the bible! "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

The bible is full of scripture that tells us to put our hope in God -- not in man and not in our friends or family. God is the one that can fulfill our needs and he can sustain us when everything seems to be in complete chaos. Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)

It's certainly not easy to smile and put our complete trust in God is it? Sometimes it feels nearly impossible. However; when we really stop to take the time to realize just how much God loves us, we can then pray to him for guidance, patience and wisdom.

God's love for you is so strong that he gave his Son's life for you - in hope that you would see how much he loves you! Jesus endured the pain, the agony and death on the cross so that we might have eternal life through Him. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. (Psalms 31:24) Put your hope and your trust in Jesus because there is so much more to come than simply this life here on earth!
