Sometimes forgiving others is a very difficult task isn't it? When they've done something to hurt you and show little to no remorse it's a lot easier to want to hold a grudge or get even than it is to forgive.
But what about us and our concern that God can't forgive us for something that we have done - maybe even a very long time ago? It's hard to imagine that the creator of the entire universe can actually forgive us isn't it? Maybe you committed adultery.....or perhaps you've lied and deceived someone and hurt them badly? Hard as it is to believe - God does forgive you!
Many times, those thoughts of not being "Good Enough" to be forgiven come from Satan. He wants us to believe that we aren't good enough, or important enough or even worthy enough to be forgiven. In fact; Satan loves to keep reminding us of the horrible sins of our past and he uses them to condemn us and to keep us from reuniting with God.
The bible calls Satan "the accuser of our brethren" (Revelations 12:10) but his accusations are completely false! The real truth is that if you have honestly turned to Jesus and you have asked Him to forgive you, then your are absolutely and completely forgiven of your sins! When Jesus went to the cross he died for every sin you have ever committed. He paid the penalty so that you and I don't have to!
So, stop living in the memory of those awful mistakes and sins that you are trying to carry around with you! Let go of them by confessing them to Christ Jesus and asking him to forgive you and then move your life to start following Him and doing all that you can to live your life for Him.
The bible tells us that "The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from ALL sin." (1 John 1:7) God promises that you! So stop living in your past sins and accept the forgiveness of Christ Jesus and start living for him today!
