I apologize for taking some time off on posting a new "Blog" here on our church website. Like the rest of you, the holidays took up a lot of my time and now I can finally take a deep breath!
We have now fully engaged with a new year and for many of us that means a couple of things. We like to make a New Years Resolution to try and get ourselves back on track with something that we've been needing to do.
By making a Resolution, we are basically making a promise to ourselves that we are going to change something about our life. Perhaps we want to lose weight so we are thus swearing off those sweets and desserts that lead us astray. Maybe we need to be healthier so we are going to cut down on our consumption of alcohol or we are finally going to quite smoking?
However; how many of us make a Resolution to be more in tune with God and to spend more time in prayer? After all, if we are being completely honest about it - most of us aren't being as spiritual as we need to be - right? We simply can't keep living our lives the way that we have been and trying to do it all by ourselves without any influence from God.
So, I hope that all of you can start out 2022 by admitting to yourselves where you need to step up your spiritual game. (myself included!) Make sure that you New Year's Resolution includes asking God for His forgiveness for where you have fallen short. Then, ask God to help you to open your heart, your mind, your eyes and your life to Jesus Christ in ways that you have never experienced before!

Good words to remember -- especially asking God to lead us in all that we do.
