Now that we have completed the Easter Holiday we're probably reflecting on how quiet things were this year. Many of us are used to gathering with our families and enjoying some time together that we don't get at any other time of the year.
Instead; it was an Easter of isolation and a lot of silence and time to look inside ourselves. Maybe you are like me and you actually enjoyed this quiet time? It was a chance to spend some time in silence, willing to listen to the voice of God.
We many times forget to turn our ears to our Heavenly Father. We tend to think of him as the person we go to or pray to and we rely on but did you ever stop to think that God wants you to hear him too?
Perhaps God has been trying to speak to you but you haven't been "listening" to him or for him? In Lamentations 3:25-26 it tells us 'The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the Salvation of the Lord."
Hearing the voice of God is more than just listening, it's listening and obeying.
Each of us has 24 hours in our day. Start by taking a few minutes each day to just be still and be quiet and be silent in His presence. Be patient and know that he is God and he will speak to you - IF you're willing to listen.
